Network for a Healthy California

The Network for a Healthy California is a movement of local, state and national partners collectively working toward improving the health of low-income Californians. Network partners encourage increased consumption of fruits and vegetables and daily physical activity, with the goal of preventing obesity and other diet-related chronic diseases.

The Network works with Local Incentive Awardees (LIAs) who represent agencies in a variety of community settings, including school districts, health departments, county offices of education, colleges and universities, tribal agencies, city governments and others.

Local projects are supported by eleven Regional Networks statewide and by targeted campaigns and programs to promote fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity. In addition, the Network promotes increased food security by supporting participating in the federal Supplemental Nutrition Education Program, formerly known as the food stamps.

The Network’s Northcoast Region operates three targeted campaigns and programs:

  • Children’s Power Play! Campaign
  • Retail Program
  • Physical Activity Integration
