Creative Movement: Michele Buran

A great handout created by Patty Kimbrell that has lots of ideas for early childhood physical activity.  There are even more resources on her website: http://pkimbrell.com/resources.htm
Several people asked about the cost of making hula hoops.  To see the receipt for all the materials needed to make the hula hoops, click here.  I was able to make 26 hoops out of the materials, so $56.27 / 26 = $2.16 each.
It was brought to my attention that certain types of electrical tape contain lead, including ones that we were using!  Please learn from my mistake and read the label closely when buying materials.  If you want to use the hula hoop you made at the training I would suggest that you either replace the tape or cover it with clear, non-toxic, tape.  A good source for safe hula hoop tape is www.identi-tape.com.  Most hooping enthusiasts recommend using gaffers tape or fabric tape.
