Northcoast Nutrition and Fitness Collaborative
The Northcoast Nutrition and Fitness Collaborative (NNFC) represents the North Coast Region, which consists of six counties (Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma). We are a community-based collaborative providing leadership and coordination in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, and food assistance.
Our vision is that all people in the Northcoast Region value and practice healthy lifestyle choices. The NNFC brings together organizations working with Project LEAN, Network for a Healthy California projects, Children's Power Play! programs, schools, tribal health organizations, WIC, and other non-profit and community-based organizations. Members work together to share information and participate in activities that promote healthy eating, physical activity and food access in the region’s schools and communities.
The NNFC has developed a strategic plan, which includes our vision, mission, goal, and objectives. To achieve our goal and meet our objectives, the Northcoast Nutrition and Fitness Collaborative has three committees that work on a variety of activities in order to:
1. Educate and empower food stamp eligible community members to promote and access food assistance programs.
2. Support the development of food systems that increase knowledge of and access to healthy regional foods.
Vision:
All people in the Northcoast region value and practice healthy lifestyles.
