Children's Power Play! Resources for the Re-Think Your Drink Campaign:

As an additional resource, the NNFC has combined Children’s Power Play! Campaign activities with "Sugar Savvy" tools. This provides multiple lessons on Rethink Your Drink and Children’s Power Play! activities designed for 9 to 11 year olds. For more information on how to adapt Children’s Power Play! activities, contact the regional Children’s Power Play! office at (707) 543-5810 ext. 204. The “GO FARTHER” sections of the activities have a variety of ideas and suggestions to support Sugar Savvy lessons, including:

  • Organize a student poster contest and have a local celebrity or elected official judge the posters.
  • Have students write a story about rethinking their drink. Include a story in the school newsletter.
  • Encourage families to track the amount of healthy drinks they consume in a week.
